The Asanawa range consists of three 100% pure jute rope options we’ve obtained from one of the world’s leading rope artists Esinem. Manufactured precisely to Esinem’s own high standards, this asanawa is indistinguishable to the ropes being used in Japan and offers a higher thread count than any other jute ropes being offered by alternative suppliers.
Natural jute rope gives the bottom an unmistakable experience through both smell and texture and is great for riggers looking to take their shibari and kinbaku to the next level. This rope is beautiful to look at and whilst it is sold unconditioned, the exacting standards of it’s manufacture mean that you do not have to condition the rope at all.
Constructed in the traditional 3 plait twist, this jute rope is an ideal choice for all three bondage disciplines, whether you identify with hojojutsu, kinbaku or shibari, you will not be disappointed.
If you are an advanced rigger looking for the best rope on the market, it is very difficult to go past the asanawa range.
Warning: most natural fibre ropes are not rated against loading strength and we always advise against making any assumptions about the breaking point of natural fibre ropes. You should always avoid putting anyone at risk and regularly check your ropes for wear.

- True Japanese Rope Review by Michele
Whilst this may not have been made in Japan, it is the cloest match I've found anywhere outside of Japan. This rope is beautifully made. The lay of the twists make all the diffference. Such a tiny thing, but it really does reflect the rope available in Japan.
